If we could first know where we are, and whither we are tending, we could better judge what to do, and how to do it. - A. Lincoln

Iowa Caucus Thoughts
I want to congratulate Rick Santorum for basically coming from nowhere a few weeks ago (in the Iowa Straw Poll he garnered single-digit support) to get second place in the Iowa caucuses by a razor-thin margin. Mitt Romney, who only in recent weeks devoted time to campaigning in Iowa, won but by only by 8 votes, and Ron Paul, who seemed disappointed, finished in third. The question for Santorum is this: is he just the next in a long line of anti-Romney candidates who have come and gone or will he be able to enlarge his support and keep this momentum going? Here are some thoughts on the candidates for New Hampshire from Peter Lawler at Postmodern Conservative, and here is the NRO symposium on last night.
